BEATNIK IS THE NEW BRITISH SOUND
Beatnik is a band made up of writer/producer siblings DJ NIKKI & STATIS. Nikki and Statis are both internationally renowned DJ's in their own right. They have worked together writing, producing & appearing on tracks for fashion shows, corporate awards, television & remixes.
The combined styles of the duo fuse to make what could only be described as a British Urban White Stripes. The overall sound is a fusion of Hip-hop and Breakbeat drum tracks mixed with rock style riffs and electro sounds. Add to this vocals ranging from punk influenced raps to soulful R&B hooks and the final mix is a combination of wonderful originality that fuses to become a combination of like Johnny Lydon and Slick Rick's understandably perverted lovechild.

DJ NIKKI 'Beatnik'
DJ NIKKI is an International DJ, Artist, Producer, Writer & Presenter.
NIKKI has risen to the top of her profession though hard work and talent and has a gig list and a repetoire few can rival. She has been quoted as 'the best female DJ in the UK' and has worked with huge recording stars (Kelis, Jay- Z, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys) toured with Ministry of Sound, spun at events for global brands (Tiger Beer, Puma, Blackberry), held residencies at most of London's top venues (57, Aura, Pangaea, China Whites, Movida) and made music for London fashion week, websites and film & TV. NIKKI is re-known for spinning for some of the biggest hip hop artists parties in the world, but also mixes Rock, 80's, electro, house & soul and just about everything else in between, into her legendary sets.

For me, it's all about the music, not the groupies, I dont believe in playing on the 'female DJ' thing either, thats so lame.
